On Starting Over is a thoughtful commentary about the world’s desperate need for a reset. It’s a cathartic culmination of my thoughts on society and world progress over the past decade. The gallery of human history overflows with examples of mankind’s search for meaning. Every historical epoch showcases man’s desperate search to become god.
From the Garden of Eden to the Tower of Babel and beyond, man has engaged in a recurring war. His goal? To replace God with himself. However, this achievement has only proved to be increasingly elusive throughout the centuries, yet man’s ascent to become god is not without its results. The fruits of his vain quest go by many names; absolutism, capitalism, communism, humanism, materialism, rationalism, socialism, etc.
These systems, while influential on humanity, have not satisfied man’s deepest longings. Over the course of millennia man has not answered any of his most fundamental questions concerning life, death, love, purpose and eternity. Any semblance of victory has only been but a hollow triumph. It begs the question then, why?
Put plainly, our attempt to make man the measure of all things has been misguided from the very start. We have fixed our gaze on the temporal, at the expense of the enteral. We look ever on the physical, instead of the spiritual. Perhaps most importantly, countless generations of men and women have chosen to look outward instead of inward, for meaning.
On Starting Over is an antidote whose chief aim is to re-direct man’s eyes away from himself and back to what really matters. It’s a clarion call for our global society to return to the only things that can affect true and lasting change. Its songs are a meditative journey through politics, psychology and different aspects of human culture that coalesce to reset and re-orientate us back to God.
It is my hope that people stop looking at external things to make their lives better. Public figures and social media are not the wellsprings from which people can derive any lasting or ultimate meaning. Rather, people must focus on their inner thought life and to a higher meaning to life. This album lights the way.

Five Minute Plan is an indie rock band from Central Florida. We played shows for 10 years and independently produced and
released 3 EPs and 2 full length records in our time.
We played venues all across the Central Florida area including Happy Daze, Carpenter's Home Church, Will's Pub, Cornerstone Florida and many others. We made several radio appearances including WPRK at Rollins College.
